There are many stories related to the birth place of Lord Hanuman in Hindu mythology. In some, Hanuman is said to have been born in a cave in Anjan village in Gumla district of Jharkhand.

In Ramcharitmanas, Goswami Tulsidas ji has told that Hanuman ji was born as a result of the blessings of sages.
